Might be a little late to the party...

I know i've heard this song many times...but when I was driving home from golfing I heard this song (again) and super loved it. This was the first time i've heard it alone and I actually listened to the words!

So of course when the song was done it went to another song so they didn't say who sung it.... And again of course I went home and "googled" the lyrics and found it and downloaded it on iTunes. Such a great song!!

"Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie

The part of the song I love is......

"And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life"

Not that it has "meaning" for where I am in my life now. But I can relate, it is such a brilliant line/song.

Reason 23475985086 why I love Music Guy.....I actually listen and think about songs and that really makes me a better person. Music does change lives!

Don't trust me? Try it!

Happy Friday

I'm flying solo this weekend... Music Guy is going away for a bachelor party and it's a weekend alone for a Kimba. Which is fine, i have plenty to do around the house! And it's a good time with the holiday and my mini vacation coming up (taking Thursday and Friday off, this gal needs a vaca).

As i'm sure you've read we have a FAB time last night with the Boston bloggers, those gals are just the best!

My whole weekend will be golf and Red Sox! Wow, that sounds like what a guy would do when the wifey is away! Lame-o Kimba! Though I will be cleaning and well that will save me!

Hope you guys have a great weekend, it's in the 70's here and i'm loving it!

Want to know "All Things Kimba"????

Just let her pee in your lawn!

Who doesn't love fishing....

Quickie but a goodie....

Music Guy and I got up at 3:30am Saturday morning to go out fishing. We were on the boat about an hour later and set "sail" to the Vineyard....by 5:30am i was soaking wet, the seas were so rough the waves were coming over the boat, threw a few cast and by 7:30am we were back in the car headed to Dunkin's and back home. It was something we'll always remember and something I sure won't do again!

But here's a pic after we got back, I'd say we look pretty darn cute! HA! :)

I am in and out of meetings all day today and tomorrow but wanted to drop in and say howdy!

Hope you Ladies are keepin' cool...it's brutal out there!

Where's my Kimba at

Hi guys I wanted to drop in and let you know i'm going to try my best to blog this week. Being the last week of the quarter and a holiday smack in the middle of next week i'm running around like a preppy with her collar down. Not good!

We had a wonderful weekend, i'll try to get a full recap this evening! Of course after the gym, i might be too busy to have my collar popped but never to busy for the gym! (rolling eyes, i know)

I can't end this without adding the wonderful gift I got in the mail when I got back yesterday from my gal Suz! Brides Behaving Badly

Classy gift from a classy girl! What would I do without her!

Finally Friday!!!

My father and step mom made it into Boston just fine yesterday afternoon! I was in a meeting and got a voice mail from him saying "We've arrived and now I'm sitting on your deck with a drink, give me a call". I finished up a few things grabbed my BlackBerry and got the heck out of here!

We had a nice evening of relaxing! Music Guy made a fab goat cheese and mushroom pizza on the grill. We had pasta salad, steak tips and chicken, very yummy!

I'm in the office for a few hours and then it's off to pick up them up and we're high tailing it to the Cape! I am showing them our reception site, very excitied to see it again! And staying at Music Guy's parents for the weekend of course!

Have a super weekend, the weather is perfect here!

Debbie, enjoy my Sox!

Woohoo!!!

Got my new shoes on....

There comes a time in every girls life where you'll forget your running shoes and walk your butt to the down town crossing City Sports where the smell is of street meat vendors in the hot muggy June sun just to buy a new pair of kicks so you don't miss your daily workout.....

E, Saturday's outfit might have been worse

HELLO SOX FANS!!!!

Mugggeeee

Hi all! We had a fab weekend in the city! I got out of work early on Friday and showed Kel around Quincy Market, then we walked through Beacon Hill to meet up with J for an early dinner. We strolled down Newbury Street and stopped to have dinner outside at Joe's. There is nothing better than sitting outside people watching! I can't tell you how many times i've been there, I just love it!

Kel and I walked through the Public Garden and down Charles St before we figured out where to next! We hopped into a cab and headed to The Tavern on the Water down in the Navy Yard, we made it just in time for the start of the Sox game. It was pretty busy but we were able to score some seats at the bar! I had met her right from work so needless to say I wasn't in "going out clothes" not that I even have them, but I looked a little to dressed up. I had on a navy and cream polka dot JCrew skirt with a cream sweater set and pearls. So shoot me I wasn't in a tube top! I prefer not to look like a tramp in public! We took off after the Sox crushed the Giants and made a quick stop into the Warren Tavern. I mean she couldn't come to Charlestown and not go there no could she! It was fun chatting with all the Townies, again another place the patrons were not a fan of my outfit.

Saturday morning we were up and out pretty early catching the Trolley in the Navy Yard. We stayed on the entire time, every time I learn something new about my city! I did however get a little trolley sick, it was pretty bumpy!

Next it was off to Fenway, we talked around Landsdown Street and grabbed a table at Tequila Rain. Got some good appetizers and beers and again watched the Sox hammer Bonds and his Giants. Then it was off to the Cask where we were able to get a table outside and still see the TV's. Now that is people watching. At the top of the 9th we jumped into a cab and got the heck out of there. I've been stuck down there to many times after the games and it's not fun, unless it's the playoffs! We went back to the Ironside for an early dinner and then back to my place to lay low. We had some pretty late nights and just relaxing with a cocktail at home seemed like a great idea to both of us!

I took Kel to the airport early that next day and came home and spent the afternoon urban sunbathing with a decktail. It was a perfect afternoon to wrap up a perfect weekend. When the sun started to go down I got on the couch and watched all my chick DVR's as Music Guy stayed on the Cape for Father's Day.

Back to work yesterday, which meant back to the gym. I have a semi short week. My father and step mom fly in on Thursday afternoon for a long weekend, I'm working a couple hours Friday morning and then it's down to the Cape for the weekend! Needless to say it's a busy week again for a Kimba!

Hope you all are enjoying this great MUGGY weather! Woohoo Summer has arrived!

Where everybody knows your name

We had such a fun time last night, don't have much time but had to report back!

Kell got in just fine last night we had a decktails and headed over to the Ironside to have a few drinks and watch the Sox game. We walk in and who is sitting at the first table but my girl A from fave couple and her friend A. We chatted with them while we waited for our table and while waiting one of the girls we went to the Vineyard with came walking in she was meeting J Music Guy's sister. She came and we had a fab night of chatting and well drinking! We had the best calamari I have ever had! Mind you Music Guy and I had never been there! Talk about "Cheers"!

We came back to our place and hang out listening to tunes! Lots O fun!

I'm about to head to the gym sans my iPod :(

Tie up a few loose ends and it's off to bum around with my fave cousin!

"Zoomongo"

Is what I think Libby should name her little buddy who sits outside her window!

I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend! I'm about to head to the gym finish up work and high tail it home to finish cleaning!!!!

Tomorrow Music Guy heads to the Cape, I go into work for a little while and then it's tour guide Kimba!

Hopefully i'll check in tomorrow with a fab recap of our evening!

Oh, and last night we ended up making Chicken Divan, it was YUM-O. Great dish for a chilly June night! Hehe!

Annoying!

So I went and got a Starbucks latte this morning and thought "i'll have it iced". I don't think i've had it iced before so adding that extra word through me off. Boy was it yummy!!!

I went and got another latter this afternoon to give me some energy for the gym later and as I was walking over there it dawned on me the last one I had was not made with skim but made with whole milk. F me. That is a difference of 100 calories and 10 grams of fat. I am so pissed. It's my own fault but it ticks me off! Only because I was in a hurry! Righttt!

Oh well, guess it would be same as having a 100 calorie cupcake pack, which actually would have tasted better!

Enough on that! It's really cold in here, I'm trying to figure something yummy for our last dinner together until next Tuesday. We had garlic cheese turkey burgers last night and pico de gallo on top of grilled chicken with cheese. Both of which were made with no help from myself. So me coming up with something is well a bit changeling! Any thoughts?

Bloggin' about this weekend already?

I am very excited about the upcoming weekend! My cousin Kell flies in tomorrow evening from Chicago to spend the weekend in Boston with me! I have to work for most of the day on Friday so she is going to take a map and bum around the city. But Friday evening I'll make sure to show her a good time!

Saturday we are going to do lunch/shop on Newbury and head down to Landsdown St to watch the Sox game. Kell is a huge Cubs fan and is looking forward to seeing Fenway and the way us Sox fan party! I am hoping she has some idea's of what she wants to see/do because I've seen and done it all so I might over look some places "tourist" would enjoy.

Any of you lovely ladies either from Boston or have visited Boston have some suggestions for showing a gal from Chi-town around?

Music Guy will be at a bachelor party all weekend so it'll end up being a perfect gals weekend!

In other news I swear there were 100+ people on the bus this morning and it was stuffy and hot. I got off the bus and it started raining, needless to say I'm on my way to get a latte, that is the only thing that will kick this day off right!

Happy Hump Day! :)

Townies for Life

Now it's going to get crazy!

We watched it with Zak & Sara and we all said next year we having a big party!

Weeked Recap

We spent the weekend on the Cape (shocking) and it was lovely!

Music Guy went down in the morning so I had to drive myself which was fine expect it took me exactly one hour to get to the Braintree split. For those of you who are not familiarly with the Boston area that is 11.8 miles south of Boston/Charlestown. But I did not have a back up at the bridge!

Saturday we woke up at 6:30am for no reason other than the damn birds would not shut up! I went for an hour long run on the beach, my legs are killing me. I ran to where we got engaged and like a sap put our wedding song on my iPod and just walked along for a few minutes. Then it was back to Fall Out Boy and full speed.

We looked like it was going to rain all day so we did not end up going fishing or even to the beach. So what else do you do on the Cape when not on the water? Go the the Christmas Tree Shop of course! I bought way to much crap, it is still in my car, I am waiting to be home alone before I bring it in. ha!

Saturday night we thought it would be a great idea to do tapas. We all had to come up with a recipe and it was so much fun. We had this great appetizer grilled peppers and motz, you grill up the peppers and slices of french bead add a slice of pepper to the bread, motz and a basel leaf then drizzle it with evoo and capers. Yum-o!
We then made curried chicken skewers with this crazy peanut dipping sauce (sorry Suz). And my all time fave pizza on the grill with goat cheese and basel. I would like to take credit for that, i saw it on the Food Network and knew it would be super yummy! You roll it on and coat one side with Olive Oil grill that for about 10 minutes and then flip coat the other side and let it grill up for about the same amount of time. I am all of a sudden drawing a blank on what else we made. I know Music Guy's mom took pictures so I'll post those when we sends them out!

Sunday deserves it's own post, I'll run through some of the details and post pictures later. We got up and left right away because we wanted to beat the traffic, we did beat the traffic over the bridge but ended up in a 6 mile backup from a 4 car accident, not that sweet!

We got back into the city and found out every street leading to Charlestown was closed off. Yes people it was Bunker Hill Day and the Towines are f'in nuts! We knew our street was closed because the parade goes right down our street. We had to park in the 99 restaurant parking lot and haul all our shit down the street. Townies are not fans of preppies, I had 4 tote bags and a JCrew shopping bag (two of the totes were vineyard vines). I got the worse looks and I'm thinking F you people, get out of Charlestown for once!
We got back poured a beer into a solo and sat on the sidewalk watching the parade. You'll see what I mean when you see the pictures!

Finally it was time to get ready for dinner with their Priest, he is marrying Music Guy's sister and also us. We have dinner with him a few times a year, he is the best!
Music Guy had on a pink button up and blazer with jeans and I wore my blogging party outfit navy dress with an argyle sweater, I had my sweater around my shoulders. He walked to CVS to get cash and one of the townies said "Nice pink shirt you fag". Nothing beats drunk assholes!

I'm going to post the pictures from the parade, all i can saw is wow these people love their Bunker Hill!

You would know me if you saw me

For all my Sox fans out there you'll appreciate this.

As most of you know (or should know) Curt Shilling had a no hitter going into the 9th with two outs.

Here it goes.....

I spent a total of 4.6 seconds at my desk yesterday as i was holed up in a conference room with only a power bar and diet coke in me (read as yummy food all around but I didn't give in).

I went to the gym right after the meeting and spent a total of 53 minutes on the treadmill. Why you ask? Because the Sox were playing and Shilling had a no hitter going. I finally left and ran up to my desk grabbed my stuff and headed out. I called Music Guy to see how the game was going and he said Shill was still going! I decided it would be a fabulous idea to start running. Mind you I had my workout bag and had just ran for 53 minutes. I work in the Financial District and sprinted to Faneuil Hall dodging tourist, homeless, men dressed like Sam Adams you name it I passed them. I got down by the Purple Shamrock and saw that Oakland was pitching so I kept going. Finally I got to The Point and ran in to see where the game was at. It was the top of the 9th and I knew I wouldn't be able to make it home and this was the last bar I would hit. So I did what any Sox fan would do, ordered a Miller Lite. I stood there dripping in sweat enjoying an ice cold ML watching the first two batters hit a grounder to Lugo. Bottom of the 9th two outs all we needed was one more out and Shilling would have his first ever no hitter. Bamn... line drive into right. FUCK was the only thing you could here in the bar. I quickly finished my beer and headed home. Right when I walked outside I got the worst cramping in my poor tummy, I guess running and chugging a beer was not what it was up for. So then I got home and it seemed up for another!

Music Guy is on the Cape, went over the bride at 10 this morning, must be nice! :)

I am still up in the air about if i'm going, i have a feeling i'll end up heading down. I was thinking about going for a run from my office to Charlestown picking up my car and 15 totes and heading back to work. Good idea?

Have a super weekend!

Busting up a Starbucks

I thought I'd treat myself to a latte this morning, mind you I have not had a latte/coffee in weeks. I have had my fair share of Diet Mt. Dews and Diet Cokes, but this latte is strong!

Not too much to report. I am trying to plan a trip to Milwaukee in July to look at wedding dresses with my mom and also go to a Brewers game. I have not seen the Brew Crew in forever, it would be a blast and then I could stay with my bro which is always trouble!!!!

Even though I had a super busy/long day at work yesterday I was still able to hit the gym for a really good work out and even walked home!

I am not a huge fan of the Sox having a West Coast road trip this week. I would love to be able to stay up and watch the games, but i just can't do it. Well they've lost the last two (three if you count Sunday) so it seems I'm not missing much. But you get me, right?/!

Libby knows my love for Mike Lowell and pointed out he (in her words) "just-for-mened"
his facial hair and now I think that could have been a deal breaker. I'm at a loss!

Hope you guys are having a great hump day!

The Starter Wife

Did any one see Debra Messing's new series on USA Network "The Starter Wife"?

I found it pretty funny, i also enjoy her as an actress so that helps. I am trying to catch up on my DVR's. Most of the things I DVR are not ones Music Guy would want to watch, Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill and of course Wedding Shows. He's great about it but I don't tend to stick around while he's watching fishing shows. Actually I'll take that back, i do!

It ended up only taking 3 hours and 23 minutes to do my hair last night. Good thing my stylist and I enjoy talking! But last night was one of those nights I would have enjoyed just reading and not chit chatting. But I a good sport and played along.

I am not going to be able to met CBM tonight for a drink. Today/tonight is the only day I can work late to prepare for a meeting Thursday morning. It might actually work out better for her and I as the weather is suppose to turn crappy by 5pm.

Trying to figure out what I want to do this weekend. I need to spend a lot of time "picking up" I am in the middle of changing over my summer and winter clothes. Meaning there is stuff all over. It will depend when Music Guy goes down, if he leaves early on Friday I'll stay but then part of me thinks why waste a perfectly good weekend. There will be times we won't go down if we see the weekend will be a washout. Thoughts?

I need skittles, that's what I think.

F'in Yankees

Hope you guys had a great weekend! We did indeed, too short and did not get much done but hey that's what Monday evenings are for with no Jack Bauer to watch!

Friday was a crazy day at work, but like a good girl I was able to squeeze the gym in there and also walked home. It started to rain on my walk home so I looked/smelled like a wet dog when I got home!
We stayed in Friday evening the couple downstairs from us (Zak and Sara) came up and we had some decktails and got to know each other better. Our buddy Hick came by and with him around it's always a party!

Saturday was J's shower, A from Fave couple and I drove out together which was nice. The shower was so wonderful, they have a great group of friends! It was really really hot and like an idiot I wore a black sweater and sat in the sun. Nice job!
The rest of the evening was low key Music Guy was tried so we just stayed home. But we did hang out with Zak and Sarah for a little while. And watch the Pistons lose, :(!

Sunday we did somethings for J's wedding present and I was able to make a Target run, oh how I love that place!

Tonight i'm getting my hair done, I haven't gotten it done in over a month and good god I need it! I'm going to hit the gym before and only do weights not run so I'm not all yucky sitting there for 3 hours. No joke, my hair takes a good 2 and a half hours just to foil it let alone wait for it to turn. She must LOVE me!

I have plans tomorrow evening after work to meet up with the very lovely CBM of "All That's Pink and Green and Inbetween" for a cocktail. Hoping the weather isn't too crappy, good drinks and great company I think the weather won't be an issue!

I've lost 10 pounds since i've started to kick my butt at the gym. So I am now the exact same weight as I was last year at this time. Still more to go but seeing it pay off is pretty nice!

Nothing was classier than my look coming to work this morning. Reef Flip flops, black skirt suit, red foul weather jacket and my pink and green tote gym bag. Really classy Kimba!

Someone we know has a date!!!

Friday, June 01, 2007

oh and it is Friday!

Nothing says happy weekend like putting on a sweater and having it be to big knowing the last time you had it on it was not!

No Cape for us this weekend. I have J's wedding shower Saturday afternoon and a birthday party Saturday night. And the rest of the weekend should entail me cleaning the crap out of our place (no pun)!

I have to figure out my summer clothes and chase dust bunnies. So needless to say I am uber jealous of my girl Suz. Who's short time in retirement was not fun for her fans!

In other news I had a fab evening last night with A from Fave Couple. She invited me over while the boys went out and we sat on their deck and sipped my new drink of the summer. Mike's Hard Lemonade Lite, it has 78 calories and 2 net carbs. Perfect!

I hope to get the Vineyard pictures up soon, i'm still waiting for them to be sent out.

Have a happy weekend and i'm hoping to check in as the weekend seems pretty low key!

Cheers!
