Weekend Recap

I'm going to try my best to give you some of the fun details from the weekend!

We took the ferry out of Falmouth where I proceeded to get a sweet sun glass tan. We were so excited to get there the hour ride seemed to take forever. If you can think about 8 gals staying in a house for a few days you can imagine the amount of stuff we had. Not to mention the rolling backpack cooler suitcase one gal brought. We got to the house and threw our stuff down and headed to Lighthouse Beach (if you have ever been to Edgartown it's the beach that is right by the Lighthouse when you're coming into the harbor). We had the entire beach to ourselves which was great because before we headed to the beach we filled up said cooler. And no one wants their full cooler taken away on the first day!

After a lot of good beach time and many jokes we went back to the house to get all showered up and start our cocktail hour. But not again before refilling said cooler. We had a long cocktail hour while everyone was getting ready. Our plan was to go out to dinner and then out to a bar after. So all the batchlorette gear had to be hidden until we got through with dinner.

We had a really nice dinner at the Kelly House right in town and before we left we dressed her all up in her flair for the evening. Our next stop was The Wharf Pub, we asked some random guy on the street to show us some place fun and that he did! They had a cover band that played a good mix of 80's and early 90's. Screaming at the top of our lungs to Jesse's Girl and Journey is a great way to spend any Saturday night.

The bride J said if you want attention if a bar put on a vail and she is so right. Men and woman would come up to her and want details or would ask us are you with "the bride". Pretty classic!

The next morning we walked into town and got breakfast and walked around as the weather was a little chilly and breezy. Soon it turned nice and a few of us headed to the beach (please note a cooler refill did happen). It was the same and the day before, not one person in site. We were going to take the trolley to South Beach but figured we found such a great spot why not try it again and we were not let down!

Our plan for the evening was to stay in and grill out. We had to be out of the house early and didn't feel another night on the town was in our best interest and we'd be able to enjoy each other more in a low key setting. Not that the 8 of us are very low key! We had another very fun cocktail hour on the deck and had a wonderful dinner. J's mom sent us over with a ton of food so all we had to find were burgers and of course chips! Oh and a few beers and a bottle of wine.

The next morning we all got up and cleaned up the house, packed our stuff and headed into town one last time. This was when most of us split up and got our power shopping done. We had a 12:45 ferry so the morning went quickly.

It was indeed one of the best weekends. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. We woke up after our first day there sore from laughing. The house was everything I thought and wanted it to be.

Of course there are a few details I left out "What happens in Edgartown says in Edgartown"!

I did however stop by the Vineyard Vines store and was able to find the tote bag Suz was looking for. I was on a mission to find her that bag!

Pictures to come!

I will post pictures when I get them on the computer and the girls send their albums around.

vv mind set

Seersucker Sconset Shirts

Now this would be super cute under a black suit with a matching sash. Some might say it is a bit too much, but not for me.

Our house this week is less than a 2 minute walk from the Flagship Vineyard Vines store.

Watch out for the stones

So I'm throwing stones at my girls Suz for not blogging and then here I sit!

I thought you ladies would love to see the house we rented this weekend on the Vineyard!

How super Cape cute is this!
This screams "Kimba"
I can see 8 ladies enjoying

I love the red bucket next to the stove

We opted to go sans crib
Tell me the last time you slept in a bunk bed!

Remember 8 ladies....
OUTDOOR SHOWER!!!!! AND a barn star!

Grill..check...outdoor space...check....
Well there you have our little house for the weekend. I am so excited! We have the best group of gals going and the weather looks perfect!

Random

I'm going to be in and out of meetings for the next couple of days, I'm hoping to be able to post when I get home.

The weather here has warmed up and I am very happy about that. I finally do not look like a crazy woman standing waiting for the bus in my flip flops in a suit. Ok yeah I still do!

**While typing this I added a green sticky note to a document I was working on and attached it with a pink paperclip. Does that scream geek in the pink or way to much time on my hands, definitely not the latter! :)**

I have a hydrangea plan on my desk that I would love to keep here but am scared it will die over the long weekend. Taking it home would be pointless because no one will be there, any thoughts? Over water it on Friday and pray?

Well I am off to hit the gym, I might not be making much time for blogging but that does not mean I'm not making gym for the treadmill. Though I wish I was! :)

Where has the day gone?

Late post today!

The weekend was wonderful, quick but great! Though it was as Libby has described it was "a wash". But none of our plans were interrupted!

Friday was a very fun evening for J's birthday. When ever you can get parents and kids together it's always enjoyable.

Saturday I had a super cute and preppy baby shower for a lovely friend of ours. Every detail was to die for and she got a ton of preppy baby items for her preppy daughter on the way! After the shower we had some couples over, for a post baby shower party! Of course no one there was having a baby so it quickly turned into a mini dance party!

Sunday was a very low key day around the house, by that time I was pretty sick of the rain and was all set in dealing with going out anywhere.

I'm headed to the Vineyard this weekend and can not wait. It's J's bachelorette party and we've rented a house, needless to say this will be one tame week! Keeping my fingers we have a beach day!

Wedding Friday up in here

These are both Augusta Jones
Don't worry i would have a completely different sash. No bedazzling for me!
Why does the model look so pissed off?

And a happy Friday it is

Found the girls dress last night! Strapless, knee length,h A-line. This picture is exactly what I'm looking for (the strapless ones) navy with a light blue or white sash. I'm so undecided about the sash color, both look amazing! Good thing I have a lot of time!

A from Fave Couple and I had a blast. She was such a good sport, even twirled for me! I love all of the suggestions and advise she gave me. Definitely someone you want by your side!
Tonight we're heading to Beacon Hill for J's birthday get together. Should be fun! Tomorrow I have a baby shower, along with the Preakness. Busy but fun weekend ahead!

So you like the dress?

I'm very much looking forward to my evening! A from Fave Couple and I are heading to Aria on Newbury Street to check out their dresses! I can not wait!

Other than that I have nothing!

Have a happy Thursday!!!

Overnight bag

You all know there is always something funny that happens when you use public transportation. And today did not disappoint. I was sitting on the bus minding my p's & q's just reading away when this woman sits next to me read as on top of me. And sets her duffel down on top of her lap. I might have been a little cramped but hey it's not a long ride. Oh then I look over to her bag and it's open with her clothes hanging out. Bra, underwear the whole 9 yards, now it's not that big of a deal but it's just not something you see everyday. And it wasn't as bad for me as it was for the other 10 guys around us in suits trying not to stare.

Don't you love when it's 85' on a Wednesday and the forecast says 55'-65' for the weekend! New England baby New England!

Sox Tuesday

You know you have a good friend when they text you from some very fabulous seats at Fenway!

Not much blogging time but wanted to thank you all for the Cake Server idea's, I need to get one ordered by end of week to insure it arrives in time for the shower!

I just figured out this weekend will kickoff the crazy summer weekends Kimba will be enjoying. Of course the weekend events post will come later in the week, would hate to run out of things to blog about on a Tuesday!

Much love to my boy Blake on idol! And a sad goodbye to Gilmore Girls, it's been real ladies!

Speaking of wedding...

Our very own Mrs Peppy Wedding has out done herself again! She has come up with a Kimba & Music Guy (more Kimba thank you very much!) wedding storyboard. Big hugs to Jen for taking the time and finding some great ideas for my perfectly preppy wedding! Who would not LOVE whale truffles?

I love the use of Navy and White and of course I would like to have our own wedding monogram. I am keeping my very own storyboard in a very safe place!

Weekend:

We had a fabulous weekend.

Friday evening we spent the night out on the deck listening to some tunes and the Red Sox game. I also was able to catch up with Suz via our wireless devises. She is too much! :)

I got up early on Saturday and went over to Beacon Hill to check out the vineyard vines totes. If you remember I had posted about one being on hold for me and then when I went to pick it up it was gone. Well I saw the totes in the window and I have to say I am not really a fan. It is what they say. A classic tote with the pattern Beacon Hill Street Signs and green signs. I'm not sure what I was thinking it would look like but sure not that. So I'm on the fence with it.

After my trip to the old hood I set off for a great Saturday morning workout! After I got home we packed up and made our way south on Rt.3. We made great time and were able to catch the whole sox game when we arrived. Saturday evening was a normal evening when we're on the Cape great laughs and great food.

Sunday we all headed out on Music Guy's parents boat. It was a bit chilly but nothing a few fleeces couldn't take care of! It was so nice to be back out on the water. I am looking forward to this summer for so many reason that of which a big one!

We stayed over last night and headed back to the city first thing this morning. It only took us 2 hours to get back. Traffic was of course heavy around Hingham and again after the Braintree split but to be able to wake up and be on the Cape you'll take sitting in traffic. Well I did today, talk to me come July and I'm not so light on the subject!

All in all we had a very low key weekend which was needed. A freakishly busy week a head and of course my Sox play everyday this week and to the Tigers to boot. The last Gilmore Girls ever will air tomorrow night. Lots of emotion in my household. Thursday A from fave couple and I will head to Newbury Street to check out bridesmaid dresses. Should be fun! :)

**Please note I in no way get any kickback or perks for blogging about things I like, enjoy, am a fan of, got it!**

Wedding gift help

Is there a better place to turn when looking for shopping help let alone wedding shopping help?/!

I am looking for a wedding cake server set. I would like it to be fairly simple and be able to engrave it. Any thoughts?

Weekend update coming!

A little late to the party!

Bloggin on a Saturday?/! About to head to the gym to crush the stair stepper! HA!

I finally was able watch our cute West Coast Gal Debbie on the Instant Beauty Pageant on the Style Network. Debbie and her BFF Nicole were TOO cute! How fun is it to sit down and watch TV and say "Oh that's Debbie" as if you are use to seeing her everyday!

I am not just saying this but the two of them where the best of them all. Just think of the other girls minus preppy add LA wanna be's.

Her B and Charlie (doggie) also made an appearance and it sealed the deal for the super cute family on the left coast thus far! Debbie did a great job and I hope if you haven't checked it out you are DVR'ing it now.

ok ok...gym here i come! giddy up!

In my VV tote!

Yes another post about this darn book. I just got it and can't wait to read it!!!!
GET IT

Why did she say no to Logan?

So I caught up on Gilmore Girls last night. And I am not happy to report Rory shot down my boy Logan. I haven't seen this weeks One Tree Hill so hopefully that will not also be a disappointment.

Heading to the Cape this weekend! We are also planning on staying over on Sunday night so that brings me to what to wear on Monday. My gal Suz and I have had endless conversations and laughs over Monday attire after a Hampton's or Cape weekend. On Friday it seems like a fab outfit, come Monday you look like a clown. You would think I could just pack a black suit and I'd be good to go. But no that is not the case.

I do about 99% of my packing on Thursday night as Friday I get picked up and we go. And when Thursday rolls around I feel a little more daring i.e. bright colors so I pack that way. There has been some bad combos, and shoes that's another issue. I can not tell you how many times I've left shoes either on the Cape or in the car. Yes I do have a box of shoes under my desk but that doesn't seem to help. I know I know, black shoes are black shoes.

Anywho, I am making myself only pack black suits for Mondays. Lets see how long that last!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the wonderful mums. Reading your stories about motherhood is very inspirational! Enjoy it's your weekend!

Dress me

To keep my blog ladies happy I thought i'd post some pictures of dresses I like!

Tell me your thoughts on the blue bottoms? Are they too "bridesmaid dress". I would like to see the dress in navy with the light blue bottom and light blue sash.
I like the top of this and thought it would be a cute way to have my maid of honor "stand" out. But again it might be a little to cute for my taste.
I really like how the sashes are tied on these dresses. I don't understand the multiple color sashes but some people like them. I am more of a matching type of chick!

If i had to pick a dress today i would go with the below dress with a light blue sash. I think it's classic and slimming for all.

All of these dresses are from Coren Moore

Like them, dislike them? Suggestions? Thoughts? :)

Brightest Crayon in the box

I was thinking this morning while getting ready...Oh my gosh I get to meet the lovely Donna (KEP's Aunt) this fall in Nantucket.

Lucky me, getting to meet all my wonderful blog friends! Now when people ask "do you even know these people, have you even met?" I can say hell ya! :)

My Morning Joe

I turned on the TV this morning to do an onDemand workout video and the TV was on MSNBC to my surprise Joe Scarborough was doing the morning show. If you remember I am pretty fond of the Ex-GOP Congressman! Scroll to the bottom to get to the good stuff.
Seeing Joe on is like seeing Anderson Cooper in the morning for all you AC fans!

Didn't end up making it out to the Sail Loft last night. Long story.

My mom is headed to Palm Beach for a long weekend, now that does not suck. Even though it's Mother's Day weekend isn't it necessary for her to bring me something back? She and my aunt love to go into all the fun PB and Boca stores and send me pictures of things they think I would like. Cruel...simply cruel.

I have a feeling we'll be headed to the Cape for Mother's Day weekend, our Cape weekends could not come soon enough.

Not much else to report, a lot going on in the Kimba household so I'm hoping to be checking in to your blogs more than blogging myself. Unless something truly blog worthy comes up!

80'...check...Sail Loft...check....

I was so happy when I got home yesterday my gal Suz sent me the book Summer Sisters by Judy Blume. Who doesn't love a book that is based on the beach on the Vineyard.

It's suppose to be very nice all week in Boston. To kick off our 80 degree week I'm meeting J and Kateson at the Sail Loft after work. Any place on the water with a deck is fine by me. Let alone a place that has a deck that sits over the water!

And while typing this the mailroom just dropped off my JCrew order. Woohoo!!!

Hopefully you all have wonderful weather also!!!!

Won't make to a Beach read

I am about to place my order for "Bright Lights Big Ass" By Jen Lancaster

As you all know I LOVED Bitter is the new Black and can not wait to read Bright Lights. I also read on her blog she is writing book #3. If you haven't read Bitter it's a must read!

I finished Bitter in only a few days and i have a feeling Bright Lights will be like that so no sitting on the beach with this one. I need to figure out some others. Anyone have some good chick-lit suggestions?

Awww!

Nothing is better than checking out two great blogs first thing Monday morning and having them have such wonderful things to say about me! :)

As you know Saturday I hosted the blogging party and it was all I had hoped for. Libby and CBM along with A from Fave Couple came over to enjoy the Derby and some great blogging chatter! We all agreed that this is going to be a reoccurring event!

Of course you can tell by reading their blogs but Libby and CBM are truly the sweetest gals. It was fun to actually have a conversation about blogs and not try to justify your "blog friend" stories! hehe! And of course you guessed it we talked a lot about you guys! And discovered new blogs that I can't wait to read!

Click on over to both of their blogs for pictures of the evening! They are so good with taking pictures. It was a fabulous evening and I look forward to August and many more get events!

Thanks to Libby I had my first Mint Jelup, she's a good bartender! And if that was not enough CBM found the greatest little bar must have. Margaritas in a bucket, how perfect is that.

Cheers!
**I'd like to add Suz is my new phone buddy, she is just as hilarious on the phone/text as she is in her blog! All I have to say is that when Suz comes and stays with me it will be a sh*t show. Speaking of that, I will not explain what happen to me in the Target parking lot yesterday as it was pretty nuts, all i'll say is Suz would have your back in any cat fight!
***If I could I would listen to Chloe talk all day long, it's bloody awesome!

Happy Derby El viernes

Hi all it's another lovely day here in Bean-town. All thanks to it being my gals Libby's birthday I'm sure!

I am only stopping in to wish you guys a very fab weekend! Hopefully you'll be watching the Derby and your horse wins! I have yet to pick mine, I have to get a paper and check the names, I like doing it better with the real paper as appose to on line. Odd? Yes!

Tomorrow evening I am hosting the "1st Annual Boston Bloggers Ladies Nite" I am sure it will be highly successful with many more to come. I am very excited to say that A from Fave Couple might make appearance.

We'll have tons of pictures to show you come Monday!

Have a super weekend gals!

20% I got the best of you...

As I'm sure you all saw, JCrew did their 20% off their sale items. See below for the goodies I was able to trap in my shopping bag and buy before they were taken out. (Fingers crossed)
Cute white boatneck sweater i already have it in navy and now i have it in black and white, color Kimba color.

And these cute Critter chino shorts I'm a little scared on their fit but we'll just have to wait and see!

Also I'm noticing under the lights here in at my desk that my self tanner ends right at my wrist as if I was wearing gloves when I put it on. That's hot.

Sidebar help...

After my blogroll I wanted to add a different blogroll that is just for Boston Sports blogs, and well as you can see the alignment is not up to par.

Any suggestions?

Love,

What would I do without Chloe

Issue

I know I've spent my fair amount of time blogging about coffee, and I really don't even drink it.

Well this morning I had no time for Dunkin's (the thought) and just went to Starbucks for an iced coffee, I also had a gift card so that helped. Well I've had about 5 sips and I really think I'm going to have a heart banger. I have been drinking water like crazy to try to equal it out and my friends it is not doing the trick. I feel like I've downed a bottle of Hydroxycut, you know that heart racing, fast talking, head pounding feeling... That's me!

I hope to be back in a few a tad more settled down.

May + skirt = i'm freezing.

Thanks for all your fun comments you are truly the best!

I am doing my best to stay healthily. Music Guy is sick and everyone at work is hacking and thank god calling in sick. I am popping zinc like it is going out of style.

Not happy with the Sox game last night, hopefully tomorrow's game is better for our gal Libby.

In other commuting news: the bus was packed this morning and a lady was sitting on the outer seat so I asked if I could move in and she glared at me and said "I'm saving it for a friend". I was too shocked to even snip back with the really good come backs I thought of, while finding the only other seat between a guy who was on his cell phone talking really loud and a guy who was reading the paper and had both arms extended as if he was sitting at his kitchen table on Sunday morning.

I had a broccoli pasta Smart One in the fridge at work yesterday and when I went to get it at lunch it was of course missing. Stealing someones home made lunch or yogurt* is one thing but stealing a frozen Weight Watcher meal is a whole other. I have a tip for the frozen dinner stealer's. Go to Target and pick up your own they are a bargain at $1.77.

Now I know how E felt when her Slim Fast was taken, it's like for the love of god steal something worth it.

*no one better take my yogurt either

The coming together of Music Guy and Kimba

It was a super warm Saturday evening and Smarty Jones had won the Kentucky Derby earlier in the afternoon. My girlfriend Naomi (Nao) and I were on our way to meet up with this guy Denver I had gone a few dates with at Jillian’s and his college buddies. (That really was his name, not a blogging name)! We got there, went up to meet them at their table and had a few cocktails and ended up just talking to eachother.

At this point I had said a total of two words to this guy and thought what a jackass I don't need this. So Nao and I told him we were headed to the bathroom and slipped out the back door to Tequila rain which was not as annoying as he was but close.
We thought let’s try the Tiki Room there is no line and if someone is going to serve me a drink that needs three straws I’m in!

So Nao and I walked up to the bar and there was this guy standing there so of course by this time her and I had a few drinks so I said to him “You’re a babe” he looks back and me and says “Who me”, and then as if once wasn’t enough I said again “you’re a babe”. The first thing he asked me where I was from because of my accent, I said Wisconsin and he being from Michigan was impressed to be hit on by a Mid-Western girl!

The rest is as they say history or as I said details details details!
**Side note** Music Guy was there for a buddies birthday party, he is a big fan of Landsdown St when the Sox are not in town!

We spent the rest of the summer watching the Sox go on to win the World Series and the rest of the fall/winter watching the Pats win the Super Bowl. Boy did I think our relationship was good for our home town teams!

Music Guy also played music out at bars/clubs when we met so it was weird to show up and have chicks singing his songs back to him and having to be ok with it. But all in all it was fun! :)

That’s the short and sweet version!

May 1st, 2004

Little did I know 3 years ago today I would have met the guy i'm going to marry.

Little did I know that hitting on him would actually work.

Little did I know a whole lot of things.

That's it folks!

After going back through the pictures a second time sans criticizing myself I remembered I liked the back on this one.
Who knows!
That's all for Wedding Dress Shopping Trip #1
