I am about to put together the "final final" Team Kimba running mix! I want to finish it tonight so I can give it a test "run" tomorrow during my final mini run. Not sure about some of you, but I am a huge fan of song placement. Not only do I love to have great songs to motivate me but how the songs are aligned is key for long runs!
Any suggestions?!

Feels like my birthday outside....
But no it's not The Ides of March it's only January 8th. It was nice getting up this morning and heading to the gym having the Jeep say 50 degrees. Speaking of the gym we went after work last night and it was so packed people were standing behind machines waiting for them to finish. Hey sorry if I sweat on you, but you're a tad close for my liking. I know it's the first of the year and they finally opened on Saturday morning but I can't wait for the novelty to wear off. Once a few weeks go by and people give up on their New Years Resolution I'm hoping it'll get back to normal.
I've had a few funky dreams the last few nights about Nantucket. Reading Sarah's post yesterday made me laugh out loud and remember my own dream. I was going to post about it yesterday but figured it wasn't all that exciting to anyone but myself, 9 times out of 10 those are my normal post! So here it goes: Sunday I had a dream I lived on Nantucket and communed to the city by the Commuter Rail. Now those of you who live in the area are familiar that the Commuter Rail picks you up in Plymouth. But no see in my dream I took the train from the Straight Wharf, that's right no Hy-Line the train. I think it was because before I fell asleep I watched the episode of Sex and the City when Carrie goes to San Fran for her book tour via train. I do not have a fear of flying, trains, cars or boats. But it was just very odd. Last nights dream was even weirder. We were still on Nantucket (not sure if i took the train there from the city) and we had to go to the store so we all piled in Jeeps and went to the top of a waterfall (which I've yet to find on ACK) and took a raft down the waterfall to the Stop and shop. Couldn't tell you what happened after that as it was time to get up. I told Music Guy about my two dreams and he so nicely sported one of his Nantucket Permit t-shirts in my honor to the gym.
Not that exciting, just odd! I'm over my head in work work work. That and I'm hoping to hit my work gym at around 4:30ish to do weights. Wish me luck! ha!
Also, I think i've just booked our DJ. As most of you could figure out the music is a big thing and we never found a band we loved. If we were going to have a band it would have had to be Martin Sexton and I think we found out that was about 10k. So a DJ it is!

Might be a little late to the party...
I know i've heard this song many times...but when I was driving home from golfing I heard this song (again) and super loved it. This was the first time i've heard it alone and I actually listened to the words!
So of course when the song was done it went to another song so they didn't say who sung it.... And again of course I went home and "googled" the lyrics and found it and downloaded it on iTunes. Such a great song!!
"Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie
The part of the song I love is......
"And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life"
Not that it has "meaning" for where I am in my life now. But I can relate, it is such a brilliant line/song.

Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt....
The spring like weather we're having in Boston is having in inference on the music I rock to while at the gym and I'm loving it! I tend to listen to the same "jams" while working out, I guess I fear change and get stuck on the same playlist day after day.
But yesterday and today were very different.
While walking home last evening (which took me 23 minutes, normally it's about a half-hour!!) I listened to my boy Jimmy Buffett (I will have to blog about how much love I have for this sailor) and at one point found myself with "fins up". Nothing is better than an iPod full of Buffett and listening to it over and over. Makes you feel pretty good about yourself and life! How on earth could anyone be anything but giddy listening to (personal fave) Volcano!
This morning on my commute I could not stop listening to O.A.R. When ever I hear them it makes me miss all of the fun outdoor shows I've attended!
Another good one would be Radiohead (Ok Computer)! Last Fall Music Guy and I saw them at the Bank of America Pavilion, first time for me billionth time for him. It was so sick, the weather was out of this world, perfect sunset over the harbor with the skyline in back. It was an unforgettable show from start to finish and not just because it was on a Monday...oy!
I could go on and on with the old standbys (The Samples) but I feel i've been there done that!
Any spring and summer tunes that get you all pumped up?!

Dixie this
How on Gods green earth did the Chicks win 5 yes 5 Grammys? Don't get my wrong I like their music but they did not deserve: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Not Album of the Year or Record of the Year for damn sure.
I think (and we all know Kimba thinks shes always right) that James Blunt should have won for "You're Beautiful" and the Red Hot Chili Peppers should have won for their record Stadium Arcadium. No if and or buts. Grrr I am really fired up about this, living with someone who's blog would be "All Things Music" I know my stuff, and for the Chicks to get those Grammys is completely wrong. And it has NOTHING to do with the fact I vote right. Opps, i might have lost some readers!
Now that I have that out of the way, it's on to more ANS news...TMZ has to be one of the best places for up to date celebrity gossip, It quickly got bookmarked.
Weekend Update: A good weekend over all, it was nice when it warmed up a tad and the wind died down. Friday night we stayed in and worked on a few wedding items, not for us for Music Guy's sister and something for friends of our who have gotten married. I won't tell you what it is now as Fav Couple read my blog and it's for them. I watched a lot of ANS news on Friday and was in bed early!
Saturday I cleaned the heck out of our place, and I mean heck. I was on hands and keens scrubbing the bathroom floor which was difficult with my booty on smacking into things. Leg booty that is. Music Guy went to the Back Bay to do some shopping (what's wrong with this picture) more or less to get out of Charlestown and probably get away from his annoying Fiancee. Hehe! That evening his sister and her Fiancee came over and we all went out to the Warren Tavern to get some dinner and lots o beers. We met up with our friend Kate, Hick, the soon to be Mrs Hick and a couple they're friends with. We had a whole section to ourselves, which I think our waitress was not happy about. Then it ended up being a late night party over at the Kimba Music Guy crib, nothing beats iTunes past 11:30pm sorry Zach and Sarah the couple downstairs. Well his name isn't really "Zach" it's Jeff but we call him Zach because of the Ben Folds Five song. Yes I know "odd".
Moving on to Sunday Kate slept over so Music Guy was so kind and made us breakfast. I then took her home to JP and good god let me tell you, it's a freaking hike. I was thinking wow this should not take this long. But I hated to see her take the T, I'm a good friend like that!
That was pretty much it for the day, wish i would have gotten out more but i can't walk all to well. Then it was time to make dinner and watch the Grammys. We made steak and french fries, yep i said it french fries and they were YUM-O. I made bernaise sauce and it was a wonderful dinner. I am in love with our grill. Just absolutely in love!
Speaking of "in love", it came out this weekend that I have a super HUGE cruch on Joe Scarborough. Music Guy was beside himself when I told him, he is like are you kidding me he's "Old Balls". Oh well, he's on my list along with Ed Hochuli! So tell me who's your "odd" man crush. Below are my two guys!!!
