Checking in from Spain to give Suz a BIG thank you for her guest blogging! She has set the bar pretty high for when i return!

We're having a great time and are very much relaxed! It's rained on and off for the last day but cleared up enough yesterday for me to go for a run and take some great pictures. Also was able to go for a quick dip in the pool! I will tell you I could get use to the way of sunbathing over on this side of the Sea. haha!

I'm happy to say Suz was the one to imform us that the Sox will indeed be playing in October, god she's good!

Fall Ball

I'm sure if Kimba were here, she'd be posting about the Red Sox so in her absence, I will post about the Mets. I do want to wish a hearty congratulations to you Red Sox Nationals out there. They've clinched themselves a playoff berth and now its down to three games and how the Rays play to determine who takes AL East and who takes the wild card. Now, Kimba's other baseball team (who I won't mention by name since they are neck in neck with my Mets for the NL wild card, well that's a whole other story. But lets not lay all the blame on the Brew Crew, the Mets are content to throw it away on their own. Last night I was at the game - Delgado hit a grand slam (what's that? did I just hear MVP????) to have a nice 5-1 lead over the Cubs. Next inning? Bam, we blow the whole thing. And so it went until we had a 6-6 tie game in the bottom of the ninth. And after stranding 9 baserunners, even to go as far as a man on third with no outs (seriously) we lost it in the 10th. Oy. I am keeping the faith but if these guys don't make it to the playoffs? Well I'm selling my Todd Hundley jersey on EBay and might have to find another sport to occupy my spring/summer/fall.

HOWDY

I'm here!

We've been running around for the last month getting everything finished up so of course my poor blog goes by the wayside. But I know after we get back from Spain i'll be blogging a lot more often! 

I'm watching the Pats vs. Jets game, it's so crazy to watch Brett Favre on the Jets! I'm happy the Pats are winning thus far!

All is going well with our planning and we're less then a week away so as most of you know there are the final things that need to get done, but after Thursday there is NOTHING i can do but relax and enjoy the guest who are starting to arrive! 

My mom and aunt are staying in Sandwich for a few days on this great cottage on the water, we stopped and saw them this morning and it is a very nice place. I hope the weather clears up and the can enjoy their beach front preppy cottage! My dad and step mom arrive tomorrow and they're going to stop by and see our  new place. Starting on Wed we're going to start to have a lot of family arrive. We're only working three days this week and we'll be off until October 6th!!!! How crazy is that?/!

I hope to check in this week, i'm trying to get my to-do list in order!

You know you're doing pretty good with being less then a month away. A few things....

-It's ok if your brother hasn't RSVP'd yet...he'll be there

-What ever hasn't been done will get done, really in the grand scheme of things it really all has already been done.

-You had an amazing bachelorette party and though you already knew it you have the best bridesmaids (*FRIENDS) ever! More then you could ever dream of. *(I am so blessed, they are truly the best gals I could ever ask for)*

-You are now more than happy with the idea of letting the wonderful helpers in your life (MIL-tobe, and others) help you and take things on and do it better than you could ever think!

-Telling the Cake lady doing a tasting on the Cape on Wednesday's just won't work so sending her a picture of what you want is ok, more than ok!

-Don't forget one big thing...when you might be stepping outside of your "I'm not that bride" zone you have Sara to pull you back in!

-Big one: your mom is coming out tomorrow for the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she will be with you when you have your hair and makeup done for the first time! Though we all know it'll look great! Nothing is better then mom being there! She is a trooper!

-Last night you and your husband to-be when out to dinner for your "one month until" dinner. And it was wonderful yet pretty funny to laugh at everyone who was so serious. Great dinner and a great bottle of wine and going home was the best!

-There is one more gal who is just nice enough to speak up and say "Spain"...

-Oh and you have a whole blogging world that you have not updated for so...cut the shit!

-There will be more to come, but for now! Just enjoy....I know you've heard for weeks, months, years that you need to step back and enjoy! I would say step back right now and enjoy...get things done...but enjoy!

-Though Kimberly, I understand you and Music Guy have planned this whole wedding and the stress is warranted, enjoy!!! No really enjoy!!!!!!!!

Honeymoon help!

First blog post of August, sickening Kimba!

I am calling all of my preppy jet setters for some advice on what is a must see for our honeymoon!

Here are the details:

We're going to Spain and will be spending most of our time in Puerto Banus and Marbella.

Any thoughts for those who have been to or know people who have are much appreciated.

We're on the Cape and it only took us 3 hours to get here, traffic and weather was the problem. But no matter how long you have to sit in traffic just getting down here makes it all worth it.

We're meeting with the Priest tomorrow morning and the rest of the day will be spent on the boat fishing. Very much looking forward to that!

Not much wedding news to report, we got our invites out which was huge! I talked with our cake lady today and the only time she could do tastings was on Wednesdays so to sum it up I pretty much told her I didn't cake to come in and just get it done. She's on the Cape so I would have had to take time off of work to do it. Which would be fine if I actually cared, but hey she has been voted Best of Boston and Best of the Cape. I just need to send her an email of what I want it to look like, easy enough for me!

Quick update

Thank you so very much for your prayers and support. You all are truly wonderful and I'm so thankful I have my blog as an outlet. My mom is doing better, we still don't know very much. But I'll keep you all posted!

I'll have more about my weekend later but wanted to add one quick picture!

Lots of Prayers

This weekend was supposed to be a wedding planning packed weekend. It still will be but just not as I pictured. My mom was going to be flying out of Madison at 6am this morning for my shower in Boston tomorrow. I planned for us to have my first dress fitting this evening and tomorrow we'd have the shower and on Sunday we'd be meeting with the flower lady to make some final decisions!

Well I got a call from my mom this morning telling me she couldn't make her flight and that she would try to get out on a later flight. And then she told me why....

Last evening my mom went to the ER with a very bad headache, they admitted her to the hospital right away and found out she has two blood clots in her brain. They don't have a lot of information right now but it seems everything is going to be ok. She cannot fly for a while but they're hopeful things will work out. It's been a pretty rough day for us thus far, but i've been able to talk to her a bunch of times while she's waiting for more and more test.

I'm going to hit the gym now, I'm feeling a bit dazed and think a good workout might help. We need a lot of prayers right now (and of course always)! She's going to be just fine and I can't wait to have her walk me down the aisle!!!

Only if you're Kimba vol. II

We had a great weekend on the Cape, more on that later. 

We got back around 1pm this afternoon so I cleaned up a bit and headed out to get some things done. I felt pretty bad ass driving around in the Jeep with the top down, the wind blowing on this hot Sunday. I pulled into Stop n Shop and the sky looked like it could rain but it was still pretty sunny and I hadn't listened to any weather reports but what was happening on the Cape.

I head inside grab my cart, swear at myself that I forgot our 15 bags in car to be "green". So I head to get a lb of turkey when Music Guy calls me and says where are you, I say I'm at the store, do you think it's bad and i should leave...he says no, you have about a half hour so don't leave just grab some things as you're there and leave. Sounds perfect. So I get a few things and pretty much feel i'm on supermarket sweep! I quickly check out and as i'm getting my notsogreen bags together and walk outside. It is not raining but I know it is about to. The second i start running to the car it starts to downpour. I throw the bags in the back and try to put the top back on. Knowing there is no way I can do it myself. So i jump in and speed out of the parking lot. I of course run into traffic so picture this...pouring rain and no top on your car, can't do anything but make sure your cell phone and blackberry are covered. I finally pull onto our street Music Guy comes running out and we put the top on and I unload the Jeep and walk inside and the rain stops. Classic! 

I will say i went back out to the Jeep with a towel and cleaned everything up. It actually washed up the sand from the weekend nicely, though i was soaking wet. 

MG told me to go inside and he'd take care of it all, but i figured I was already very wet and that it was turning fun! 

Two months from today we'll be getting married! Looking forward to it!!!

We have a busy week ahead of us! MG's cousin is flying in on Tuesday and she's coming to stay with us on Thursday and Friday. My mom is flying in on Friday, we're going to my first dress fitting that evening, Saturday is my Boston shower and then we're going down to the Cape Saturday afternoon. Then come Sunday my mom and I are going to Yarmouth to meet with my flower lady! Fun stuff coming up!!!!!

I do promise I will be posting pictures of Liane's wedding this week!

Thursday night kick-off party!

I flew into Madison at 9am on Thursday morning. It was nice to finally get there and get the weekend started! I had about 15 things I needed to get done and was so thankful my mom took the day off to help me out! Just Maid of Honor things and also a few extras for the wedding. Like my shoes! Which isn’t the smartest because if you’re going to be wearing heels all day you’d at least like some time to break them in. But no, not if you’re me! Here are a few shots from the first night!

Of course a picture of me and my mom! Who i dubbed as my personal attendant for the weekend! My mom was so great all weekend long, running with me and running around for me! Note, my jacket was $37 at JCrew, i got it over the 4th of July. I just love it! A bit bright, but i'm a huge fan. I did get a few strange looks that night, seems it's more of an East Coast look!

Jacked up

My bloglines is on crack, it shows I have the number of post you've written total I have left to read. Boooo

I worked a lot this weekend and also did some cleaning. It was nice to be home this weekend as we'll be heading down to the Cape on Thursday for the weekend. And then the following weekend I'll be leaving for Wisconsin on Thursday for Liane's wedding. Yeah!!!

Off to the gym, I should just run outside it is WONDEFUL outside!

I have to give a speech at my BFF Liane's wedding in 16 days. I am UBER.STRESSING. about it. I know it'll be fine but any advice? 

So we just got Apple TV and let me tell you, it is the best! How fun is it to play the music off of your TV. 

The shower was great this weekend and the batch party for Liane went very well! Some cute and not so cute pics! :) One funny story, we were leaving the first bar and one of the bridesmaids had to pee so she went in between two cars, I was there "helping" her. So out of the blue we see a guy walking towards us with a flashlight, yep you guessed it. It was a Cop. She was about to get a ticket and then another Cop came over and they ended up knowing each other...So she walked away with a "never do it again"! 

OK, so any help with the speech would be very wonderful!!!!
