Mini-Cape-Vaca

Tuesday morning I packed up 4 tote bags drove to work and couldn't wait to be done for the week! That's right, we took off Wednesday-Friday and headed to the Cape! We drove separately so at about 4:45 my bossed kicked me out of the office to start my vaca and away I went!

I had tons of traffic and pour rain for the full two hour ride, but I didn't care and turned on the radio and my iPhone charging and was rocking my way down Rt. 3 Cape bound!!!
The continued into Wednesday morning so we headed into Hyannis for brunch at The Daily Paper and to walk around the downtown which is something we would never do unless well we never would. That tells you how much we wanted to feel on vaca and to take it all in! This is my egg beater cheese and broccoli goodness! And of course my standard "dry rye", it was so good! Thursday we had to take the Jeep in to get an oil change, we only take it to the Jeep dealer down there as we want to keep her in tip top shape and they will have records of any work we have done. While waiting we headed to Osterville Fish Too and got a little lunch. I was so excitied about the coleslaw, and it was as good as I remembered!

Finally it was nice enough to take the Jeep top off and it felt so good to cruse around and give the "Jeep wave" in style! RJ formally known as Music Guy is proudly wearing his 2009 FIGAWI Sailing Mount Gay hat! It is not an easy hat to get, and I've already been told the "what's mine is yours and yours is mine" does not apply to this hat!

We headed to the beach for cocktail hour and I had to snap a picture, and then was made fun of, but hey, my mom would be proud! If you spy my neacklas, that was our fab bridesmaid gift from Sara's wedding, a true KEP classic! Some of you have asked about my sunglasses, they're RayBans, and not the typical ones you find, I've been searching for the link, so please stay tuned!

A perfect cocktail for the beach Sam Summer and a super cute monogrammed koozie! Thanks Liane!

A ride on the boat, no better way to spend a summer day!

It was too windy on Saturday to take the boat out, so we hit the beach, it was a great great day, and I loaded up on the SPF, more then I needed to, but this Irish gal needs her SPF more then you know!

All in all we had a wonderful vacation, and I'm not 100% ready to go back to work, but it's does feel fabulous to be home!

Holiday

Gone Fishin' (we really will be fishing!!!)

We're heading to Florida tomorrow, very much looking forward to this time away! I have not had a vacation since we went to Nantucket last September.

The weather doesn't look promising but with the rain it still said 80 and i'm happy!

I know i've been a REALLY bad blogger and that is something i'm not happy about. Thank you all for your birthday wishes, you are the best.

I'm finally home but i'm still working, about to start to pack and try to relax before our early AM flight.

I hope you all have a Hoppy Easter! (i've been waiting a year to say that again!)

First of a few

Here are some people pictures. I still have a few more people who will pass along their pictures from the weekend. Here are a few from my mom!

Friday night my dad hosted a welcoming dinner for Music Guy's parents. My step brother, step sister and their family came also so did my mom and brother. A very nice way for MG's parents to meet my step mom's kids.

As I posted about on Friday we had a 6:30am flight out of Boston. We all got up at 4:30am and were at Logan by 5:30am and in line only to be told we would have a four our delay for "mechanical problems". They had to reschedule us to take the next flight at 11:15am (a flight from Milwaukee to Boston was coming in at 10:45am) which they said was going to be carrying the part to fix our plane. And being the first flight out of Boston means that plane was there over night. So you're telling me they had no idea about this last night and it was only at 5:30am they found it out? There was no notice before 5:30am the flight would be delayed. Midwest Air was recently sold and I can assure you our flight was not full and neither was the 11:15 flight so it makes since to cancel the 6:30 flight and put us all on one. We did get out on time and made it to Milwaukee around 1:15pm. Got our rental car and we off to Madison in no time.

I took them around the UW campus and stopped at a local bar for the freshest Miller Lite and fried Cheese Curds, it was a small order. You really only need a taste, you want more, but really shouldn't.

The rest of the evening was spent at my dads for some family time.

Here I am with my mom and brother
Music Guy and I
Saturday Morning we headed to Union South for a over the top Tailgate party. My Godparents rent a room every year and it is catered with brunch and "tailgate" beverages. 8:30 is a little early, but for the Badgers you have to just go with it! Part of the Marching band comes and puts on a little show. We had great deck seating overlooking the show.

Here we're getting out game faces on!

The band!

Who ever this guy is....I love your hat

My team came out on top but Music Guy was a good sport!!!

It was such a wonderful weekend I got to spend a lot of quality time with my family and was so happy to share it with Music Guy and his parents! I will have more pictures to share as they come in.

I enjoyed my day off yesterday. I spent some time at Natick Collections, and JCrew I was not impressed with your new store nor the people you have working there. I then went to Barnes & Noble sipped a Latte and read a few errr 5 gossip magazines. Then it was off to get my weekend errands done and tend to the my house cleaning.

We were at the gym a little after 6 this morning and all day i'm a few hours a head of myself. I think my afternoon is going to drag a tad, nothing a Diet Coke can't take care of!

Happy to be home!!!

Ok i too am not able to add a title.

I will do my holiday recap this evening, nothing crazy so don't worry I'm not holding out!

I do have a question for my preppy gals!

I need to find a pair of men's Nantucket Red Cargo shorts. As some of you know Music Guy is not preppy whatsoever. He owns about 3 polo shirts and is just not preppy. But after showing him a pair of the new Castaway shorts asking why can't he be "normal" and want to wear them. He said you know I would wear a pair of ACK red cargo shorts, I said do they even make them? He said, oh yeah I saw a guy with them on the other day. So I've been trying to find a pair online and am having no luck, can you ladies help me out?/! This is for a good cause! :) Baby steps...baby steps!

I look like a tool at work with my really tanned read as red/tan/freckled skin. About 10 people (no joke) have commented. I'm thinking, hey I spent six freakin' days on either a boat or the beach what the hell do you expect. I don't look like a lobster, I look like I just had a vacation, what is so wrong with that, sorry if you're jealous. Ok now that I have that out of the way.

I'll be back later with a full recap!

Happy to hear all of you had a wonderful 4th! And Suz had a wonderful birthday!!!

Plans changed........

I am going down Cape tonight! I will have my BlackBerry and Laptop so there is no reason to be here tomorrow!

Have a wonderful 4th and I'm sure I'll be checking in beach side!

Weekend update

What a wonderful weekend, the weather was perfect and my golf game sucks!

Friday I didn't do a darn thing, i was in bed by 10pm and loved it! I didn't end up fall asleep for a couple hours as I was reading and watching re-runs of Roseanne, yep you heard right Roseanne!

Saturday I got up and headed out right to play golf, I sucked it up pretty bad. But practice makes perfect. So I will be doing a lot of practicing this coming week/end. I am taking off to the Cape tomorrow after work and I took the rest of the week off. It really is a much needed vacation for me. I have been so stressed out the past few months that this is all I can do to slow down.

Sunday was pretty uneventful, I cleaned and waited for Music Guy to return from VT. Speaking of him, he left for the Cape this morning so it's another night alone. No big deal for me, I still have a few chapters of my book I would like to finish. And I'd like to get to bed early and get to work early so I can leave and beat the traffic.

Has anyone tried Coca-Cola cherry zero? It is super good!!!

Not much else going on, just trying to slow down and get ready for vaca!!!
