Speaking of weddings, next week a very dear family friend Jillian is getting married to the fab Jason, "J&J" sounds like a drink! She is such a wonderful person and I am so blessed to know her and family, will post pictures as I know it will be breath taking.
Last evening we had MG's fathers surprise 60th birthday party, it was indeed a surprise and that in itself is a huge success! It was at The Daily Catch which is right on the water in the Seaport, if you need to host a party I would suggest this place 100%, we had MG's surprise 30th birthday there and if they can handle that crew they can handle anyone! You say why have the two parties at the same place? Because it is that awesome and we figured he wouldn't catch on because there is no way you'd have it there also! Again success!
We're having a city weekend as we knew we'd hit major bride traffic at the bridge heading down to the Cape and about 20 minutes ago JJ updated her facebook status "8 mile back up to the bridge", happy that's not us! But of course we miss not being down on the water. SO to make up for it we're heading to Tavern on the Water in the Navy Yard for some cocktails and an app, it's about 97 degrees outside so where else should one be if not on the Cape! I'll post some pictures on twitter!
Not sure if I'm the only one who does this but before I go out to dinner or even go to any bar/restaurant I always check out the website and menu, I like to have a decision before I get there or at least a good idea. MG is the opposite, he would rather wait until he's there and in the setting to make a decision. Now i've been to Tavern on the Water about 50 times and I know what the menu is like but that doesn't stop me from looking at it this afternoon and what do I see gaucamole and chips for $9.95 doesn't that seem a bit pricey? I mean the calamari is $10.95, how is it possible it can only be a dollar more then gauc and chips. maybe it's just me. All this gauc talk I really want to get it, but have an issue paying much, we'll see!
Last week was a whirlwind. We flew to DC for MG's grandmothers funeral service, she was laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery, may have been one of the most emotional funerals I have ever been to, it was in the end very peaceful. The Marines were truly sincere, you could just tell in their voices. I'm getting chocked up thinking about it.
Well i guess this wasn't as "quick" as I was planning!
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

I always check out menus too...even if it's a chain that I've been to tons. I like to have an idea, see prices, and start thinking about what I'm having. I like to read the descriptions too.
Also, there's usually not a lot of time between when the waiter/ess brings the drinks and asks for dinner orders. No pressure if I've already looked things over.
You're not the only one - I ALWAYS check the menu before I go someplace, just so I have a few ideas going in!
Have an awesome weekend, sis - we're home too.
