Bloggin' about this weekend already?

I am very excited about the upcoming weekend! My cousin Kell flies in tomorrow evening from Chicago to spend the weekend in Boston with me! I have to work for most of the day on Friday so she is going to take a map and bum around the city. But Friday evening I'll make sure to show her a good time!

Saturday we are going to do lunch/shop on Newbury and head down to Landsdown St to watch the Sox game. Kell is a huge Cubs fan and is looking forward to seeing Fenway and the way us Sox fan party! I am hoping she has some idea's of what she wants to see/do because I've seen and done it all so I might over look some places "tourist" would enjoy.

Any of you lovely ladies either from Boston or have visited Boston have some suggestions for showing a gal from Chi-town around?

Music Guy will be at a bachelor party all weekend so it'll end up being a perfect gals weekend!

In other news I swear there were 100+ people on the bus this morning and it was stuffy and hot. I got off the bus and it started raining, needless to say I'm on my way to get a latte, that is the only thing that will kick this day off right!

Happy Hump Day! :)

Hi Kimba! I just moved out of the North end and had many visitors come through. We'd typically walk along the waterfornt to the aquarium then to fanuel hall, through boston commons and the gardens to Newbury St., on to harvard square... have fun!!

Yeah! And I agree with Steph, don't forget Cheers. Every time I would go to Boston with someone from the midwest they would want to see Cheers too. The Freedom trail is awesome, if you do the trolley tour you can see it all!

i love to take out of towners to the north end for capuccino and cannoli! if she is looking for stuff to do on her own Friday the MFA is a great place to wander around alone for a few hours.

Well, sounds like you have Newbury/Back Bay covered (walk through the Public Garden!). I hope you show her Beacon Hill and at some point, stop by Faneuil for a pint! I hope it's great weather for you girls!

I love doing trolley tours, less pressure for me! I wish you could have roadies wouldn't that just scream Boston?/!

Thank you for all your suggestions, we're set to have a fab weekend!

You have to go on the Ducks! And be sure and start at the Science Museum. . .only a quick walk from your place and if you leave from that site they take you through Beacon Hill because of the construction on Cambridge Street. . .you go down Charles Street. Also with this tour your cousin will have a view of Boston skyline from the Charles River. When you return, you can then hop the green line and head over to Newbury for a full day!

I am from the area & have never done the Duck Tour ... heard it's a blast & a great way to see all that Bostonian history & the great sights :) - I keep saying that the next time we host out of towners, we are going to get tix for the ducks (simply because I feel I must do it). Enjoy your weekend in Beantown :) (so far, the weather forecast looks fab!)

Hi Kimba! I am a fellow Townie (or I really think we are Toonies . . .) I have to say that Tavern on the Water offers such a cool view (you could definitely catch some Townies there!) and then you could take the water ferry over to Faneuil Hall area. . .And you have to go to the Paramount for brunch!

Heya, if she's still in town on Monday afternoon, Paulo Nutini is playing a free show at the Prudential Center.
