First off I did not find "the one" but did indeed found what I did not want!
I went to Sara's condo in Salem on Saturday morning and then we were off! But of course not before stepping in a BIG pile of dog poo with my only once worn JCrew leather flip flops. That was fun! Moving right along.
We had the funniest sales woman Alla, she loved Sara and towards the end of our trip there she went off and did other things as she felt Sara had it down!
Here's me and my girl Alla looking at the pictures I brought in which really did help! Thanks to the veteran brides for this tip!
This dress is a bit plain but I wanted to see how a sash would look on me. I liked it, but when you add a sash the dress is just that plain. But the price tag was pretty lovely $199.00
I liked the top part of the dress but was not a fan of the bottom, it weighed about 20lbs and really stuck out there. I don't think we'd be able to successfuly complete "kiss the bride" in this bad boy!
I swear big ole' white wedding dresses do nothing for me! :)
Another look, i like the top on this but do not like how it over laps half way through the skirt.

Oh Kimberly, what fun!! I wore my mother's dress, which I loved, but I never had the fun of either shopping for or playing dress-up with wedding gowns. So, I hope you don't mind, but I'm living the experience vicariously through you! I love the top of that second dress, it's a great look on you-- and the last one is just a hoot! Your face says it all! You'll find the right one, don't fret!
I loved trying on gowns so much. I remember thinking that I wanted to wear a wedding gown every day I loved them so much. As it turns out, I didn't go the gown route and borrowed a cocktail dress from a friend that she wore for her wedding - but the experience was so fun.
I think the last one is a keeper!
Oh FUN! I loved shopping for gowns. I found mine pretty quickly so I didn't really have time to get tired of trying them on. I swear, I'd wear mine every day if I could.
So fun! You're really a bride!!! I love the top of the third one (the one where you don't like the crossover on the skir) the slight gathering is really flattering and I love love the colored sashes. I hope my pics were included in the ones you brought along :)
Looks like you had fun! I didn't try on a silly/fugly dress and I regret that. I was so on a mission that I missed out on that! At least you know what you don't want and that is a great start! Good luck!
Looks like you're off to a good start, K! Sometimes it's helpful to determine what you don't want, because it can reveal a lot about what you are looking for.
I kept trying dresses on and found a dress that I LOVED, but never would have thought I'd have chosen--so you never know!
Glad you had a fun day!
That last one is priceless!! Planning a wedding can be a pain in the ass if you don't take a moment to have a laugh :)
I like the first and third dresses, but the fourth is absolutely hands down the best. I'm speechless. The second dress did nothing for you in my opinion.
hahahahahaaaaaaaaaa. Love it! If you don't want to spend a ton of money but want a ton of options there is a place in me and E's hood called Chantilly's Place. I have gotten three dresses altered there and bought my gown there from my *gasp* 1st wedding.
Oh I think you should go with the last dress for sure!!
TOTALLY KIDDING OF COURSE!!
Thanks Loo, I will have to check it out! Please 1st weddings are the trial run right? :)
I love the color that the sash added to dress #1, it looked great!
Yes, I like to call it my starter marriage.
Also, Vows in Newton (bridalpower.com)
If you come up to the area, we can treat you to the hood rat infested martini bar.
How fun... I like the styles you are looking at and I can't wait to see what you end up with!!
LOVE THEM! THanks for sharing with us! Keep the photos coming! I like the third one too, it's VERY flattering!!
Loving the last one - especially if Music Guy rocks the mullet. Maybe add a few silk flowers and you are set for the prettiest wedding in all of Cape Cod! haha
Hilarious! The pictures in the last one are priceless!
Beautiful! I love the last one best, just kidding. I really like the one with the sash, very pretty. My little sister is wearing a sash on her dress and we, the bridesmaids are wearing the sash colored dress with a white sash. Does that make sense?
Anyway, you look great!
Oh my! That 4th one was HI-LAR-IOUS!!! And the look on your face... perfect.
What fun! My advice to you is to channel Grace Kelley when dress shopping. Not too fussy, clean lines, elegant. The point is to see the WOMAN not the dress, so much. Good luck on your search!
I like the last one...yeah right! It reminds me of Sex in the City where Carrie and Miranda try on the ugly dresses...
The 80's redneck dress is too hilarious! I swear I think trying on dresses will be the best part of planning a wedding someday.
Dress shopping is so much fun! I actually like the one with the sash- I like simple. But that is only of course, if the last one is out of stock or on back order too late to make the wedding date!!!
Oh I LOVE the last one, good look too. You are having a kegger right?
Jilly, you know it, solo cups for all!
I love the fourth one. . .and the one that has the crinkled top. Kimba, you are a beautiful bride! The last, well, I think I saw that in a Western movie. . .can't believe they actually make those anymore. . .such a hoot! Keep trying. . .and keep the pics coming. . .you are so entertaining. Your expressions say it all! Good luck! :-)
Oh my goodness, I about fell out of my chair on your mullet comment... That is so choice.
Fantastic!! Thanks so much for sharing the pictures, and your comments are so funny!
(I do kind like the one where the dress overlaps though! Lol!)
