Did you really have to up your prices on ties? Really, really did you? I think $65 was a good price but now they are $75. I already was on the fence with using you for our groomsmen ties and I think raising the price seals the deal. Do you even understand the reaction I get when I tell people I might not use you. I might be over thinking this and maybe an extra $200 or so might not seem like much when we're spending so much to begin with. But listen we have to buy 13 ties. Do the math that's a lot.
Just think about it, i've been with you from the beginning and have made you a lot of money when I trot around town using one of my zillion totes. And the lovely men in my life have a nice supply of your ties (at $65). I won't even get into the clothing I own.
Lots of Love,
Kimba

I really don't like how mainstream it's become. Demand goes up, supply stays the same....prices go up! My econ degree helps me understand that much!! Years and years ago, I was one of TWO girls on a campus with 50K kids that toted around my V.V. tote. After a sorority pledge class donned them.....everyone on campus thought they'd jump on board. At least I'm still the only one with the original VV sticker on my car.
Sheesh.... I hear your pain. A price increase on one tie sucks, but is doable. That increase X13 -- really adds up. Maybe send them an email and plead you case -- they might have pity on you.
Whoa. Well, that's one less brand of tie Mr. P will be receiving and wait a minute...thirteen ties? Dear god! That alone makes me glad I had a wedding with under 50 guests!
But seriously, I bet you could find even nicer ties someplace else. Are you thinking polka dotted still or something else?
I was thinking about the light blue Cape Cod tie but I also go back and forth with the polka dots.
R has seven groomsmen, the two dads, we have three ushers and R himself. Nuts I know.
Given the amount of publicity you give VV I should think that Shep and Ian could extend you a special discount on the ties!
Oh Aaron has that tie! I have to admit it is really cute but $75 x 13 is like whoa.
Personally I think the polka dots would be adorable. Total unsolicited opinion :)
Jeez-I didn't know the prices went up. Ugh! 13 ties-wow...I wonder if you could send customer service an email and see if they would offer you a discount for purchasing so many ties? Just a thought:)
I absolutely think you should ask for a discount since you will be buying, especially considering what a good customer you've been.
Lucky men in your life! VV has some of the cutest tie patterns ever!
Go for the discount. . .you are a good customer. . .AND you help with advertising not only on your blog but with all of your outfits/totes! I would be very surprised if they didn't give you last year's prices. Keep us updated as it may make a difference where I do my future Christmas shopping! Good luck!
I wanted to use their tote for bridesmaids gifts but no go. I agree with NMB..I can't believe how mainstream they have become. I remember buying VV over the summer and heading back to school with my VV tote and other goodies. SHU had no idea what hit them!
They should offer discounts for wedding parties since they push how great their stuff is for weddings!
and I can personally vouch for them being GREAT with the customer service discounts. I received a few things for Christmas, and when I sent for my exchange- I owed them about $30. I didn't want to write my payment information on the form incase it got lost in the mail and someone found it..so I left my phone number and said to call when they got it and I'd give them my billing info...well, they never called! But I got my exchange! No extra charge!
NMB, i've had the same thing happen. I actually gave them my info in the mail (before all this fraud alerts, and i was stupid) I got the excange free of cost.
I used VV for my groomsmen ties and received a discount. It is worth asking about. Otherwise, there are so many other tie companies that are cute and A LOT less expensive.
Remember we were talking about this when Lisagh was here? I like their ties and used them in my wedding, but think I might be over them... Sigh.
$75 for a tie is redunkulous. Unless it's made out of diamonds or cheese or something like that. We went to Macy's and got Nautica ties on sale for $25 each for our groomsmen (we had to buy 14 of them). They were all the same lime green color scheme, but different designs. I think it looked really neat. Do show us what you come up with!
we are thikning of the same thing for our summer cape cod wedding, we don't have 13 like you but 7 is still a lot... but they are so cute... how can you pass on them??
