Speaking of, when do you typically get your family Christmas Tree?
We will be getting it next weekend! Hopefully unlike last year we'll get a tree that will actually fit in our living room. Our tree last year was so big when we got home we almost threw it out and it dropped so many needles I swear I was still picking them up in July!
TGIF!!!!

A "family tree". Oh geez. I read yesterday that street Santas were being asked to say 'Ha ha ha' not 'Ho ho ho' so they wouldn't offend women. That is amazingly absurd.
Next weeked I'll pull my faux tree from the basement. I love the idea of a real tree but not all the work.
Have a great weekend.
I heard that this morning too.......please...give me a break! I for one will NOT have a family tree but I WILL have a Christmas tree....as in it is the birthday of Christ!
Oh, the Christmas tree in our house...I am sure that I will post about it...it is quite an ordeal! Oh, the magic of Christmas!
Our Christmas tree goes up around the first weekend of December- though with final exams this year it might be the second week. As a matter of tradition, my parents always put their tree up on Dec. 18th, no matter what day that date falls on.
TGIF right back atcha!
We get ours the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We usually decorate it that Sunday, but sometimes it stands naked in the living room for a few days before we get around to it.
We ususally get our CHRISTMAS tree (real) 2 -3 weeks before Christmas. Of course this year will be different.
We usually get our CHRISTMAS tree the Sundy after Thanksgiving. We drive down to a tree farm in Half Moon Bay (south of San Francisco) and cut our own tree. Then we eat fish and chips for lunch and buy live dungeness crab* to take home for dinner after trimming the tree. It's nothing that would end up on an L.L. Bean catalog cover, but it's how we do things in CA!
Keep the wedding posts coming! I've loving them.
* Boohoo. Big oil spill in SF Bay probably means no crab season this year. And lots of dead birds. :(
Mama mia - Family Tree - I don't think so, it's a Christmas Tree & that's that :)
We tend to get ours around the 2nd weekend of December. We go & cut down a fresh one, so on top of the needles it sheds, we have to inspect it for any critters, etc. before it enters the house! I like to get a small tree - we only decorate with keepsake ornaments that we have received over the years (my parents used to always give me an ornament in my stocking & I have started that tradition with both Hubby & The Little Man). We don't have any "balls" or garland on our tree - it's very, very simple (and easy to decorate).
I'm with you, Nina Diane! Christmas is ALL about Christ! Gah!
We get our Christmas tree a oucple of weeks before Christmas. I'm so excited to decorate in our new house :) (Well sort of new...first Christmas anyway)
Everything is too PC anymore. It's a CHRISTMAS tree. Ugh!
We go at dawn the day after Thankgiving (Black Friday) to Tag our tree. Then return a few weeks later (middle of december, typically) to retreive the fresh cut tree. Every year we say "This can't be the one we picked! This looks too lopsided/big/small/etc they must've switched up!" We all know though that it's really our tree, that's what you get for picking out a tree in the DARK! Merry Christmas!
We tag our tree Columbus Day weekend, but don't pick it up until the second or third week in December.
My mom usually like to put up our tree around the 10th of December, but I like to put up my CHRISTMAS tree at Thanksgiving. That way I get to enjoy it before I go away for Christmas :)
We usually get ours a few weeks before Christmas, but since we live in an apartment now in the city I have to figure out how to make it all work. Hmmm.
