I am becoming very happy with my commute from Charlestown to Post Office Square. But I am becoming extremely happy with my commute from Post Office Square to Charlestown.
Almost my whole walk when I leave work is on the Freedom Trail. As soon as the Trail hits the North End I go left and pick it up on the Charlestown Bridge. It’s a nice walk!
When I leave work I am only about a block from The Old State house.
As I walk down Congress Street I cut through the Union Oyster House which is the oldest restaurant in Boston and the oldest restaurant in continuous service in the U.S. I went here on my 18th birthday and had lobster for the first time. That's a lot for a gal from Wisconsin.
From there I walk down a street that borders the North End and onto the Charlestown Bridge, this is such a pretty view of the Bunker Hill Monument.

I live in Charlestown too and do almost that same walk home! It's the best...when it's nice out. The bridge is TERRIBLY cold in the winter! Enjoy today's "commute" home!

Oh, such a lovely walk!
so pretty and very historic, my ride past the stip clubs and chop shops sure do pale in comparison, but at least I get some good stories out of it!
That's a *perfect* commute, Kimba! I'm tres jelous!
(ps: no distance is too far for a Dunks!)
I did enjoy your walk. Funny, I have lived in Mass my whole life and I just don't take advantage of Boston like I should!
The street that the Oyster House is on, reminds me soooo much of London. Almost to the point where I could miss the place!
Jealous! What a great walk!! (especially when it's nice out) I would LOVE to walk to/from work. I have got to get to boston, looks awesome!
You are one lucky commuter, Boston is a great city! My commute is not so historical but is short and sweet (like I like it) so I can't complain!
What a lucky commute for you! These pictures remind me of the great vacation hubby and I had in Boston! I'm very jealous!!!
You are so lucky. That is one of my mom's favorite parts of Boston, and every time we visit together, we do almost the same walk. It is so nice to be able to review history as you stroll! Lucky duck!
What a gorgeous commute! I miss the days when I could walk home from work, but even then, I never had such history to keep me compnay on the way home.
Your commute is so great! I love Boston, especially in the summer and spring:)
That was great! Felt like I was right there with you!
Loved seeing your walk. I am so jealous! You are so lucky to live in such a great place!
