Home already

Woo. That was a quick trip. And a wicked fun trip it was!

We flew out on Friday around noon and got into DET at 2pm. Music Guy's aunt picked us up and drove me around the water front to see all of what Mo-Town had to offer! Which again was quick!

We dropped his aunt off and headed to Birmingham where MG grew up. That town has some high class soccer moms. We went to The Hunter House for a slider and cheese fries. It was the first time I had tried cheese fries and though they are pretty good, I don't think I'll be trying them again. I think there was just way to much going on for my liking.

We got back to his aunts and hung out with them on their porch it was nice to hang out and just relax with a cocktail in hand of course.
J, G and their family friend Kris came over and we watch the Sox game and headed out to the 5th Avenue Bar in Royal Oak. I felt way to old in the bar, it was like spring break the streets were crowed and everyone was wasted. But hey, I don't judge!

Saturday was J's bridal shower! It was 70+ outside and we were at another aunts who lives on this beautiful lake in Hartland. It was a guy and gal shower so I was happy to have my guy with me. Regardless his family is so great I don't need him around!

Wonderful food, wonderful drinks, wonderful family and lots of hot sun! A perfect shower! We stayed til about 8pm and then it was back to Royal Oak to pack up and head to bed.

Our flight on Sunday was at 8:30am so we did nothing more than roll into the call and plane and head back to bean town!

After we got home we had a plan to get our outdoor space all set, and that we did! We went to Home Goods and got this perfect patio set. Then it was off to Home Depot for plans and flower boxes. I panted the flowers and am not really a big fan of them but maybe i'll see how they grow. We also got some medium size palm plans and well we kind of live in a wind tunnle so we have a bet going of how long those poor things will last. Not long I say!

We grilled burgers and had pasta salad for dinner all while watching the BEST sox game all year! I freaking love this time of year! Baseball, girlling, sitting on the deck. Life is good!

And then today it was back to the real world. I have a super busy work week so I'll try to post the pictures from this weekend later on in the week. I just had a salad from Cosi and the chicken was so salty I might need a sour patch kid to take the bite away!

first lets get to the serious stuff - cheese fries - mozzerella or cheddar? did you have gravy or ketchup as your dipping medium?

sounds like a good weekend all around, there's no love lost between me and yankees fans and I admire the spirit of sox fans so I was quite excited for yesterday's game too!

and this weather, I can't stop smiling :)

Oh Suz, I would think if you had cheese on your fries (cheddar) you wouldn't need another dipper, but it seems ketchup might have been a good call. Guess I'll have to try them again!

This weather is freaking perfect!

My favorite college drunken late night savior were cheese fries, with mozz and, get this, BACON. you have no idea how amazing they are/were, and I am all about the heavy duty grease for hangover prevention.
delicious? yes, but a heart-attack on a plate.
great to hear you had a good weekend, with weather like we had - you just can't go wrong!!

I had to re-read your post regarding cheese fries. How is it possible you have never had them before? I agree with Suz - you need something to dip them in. I prefer american cheese and gravy. In college we called them disco fries (I couldn't tell you why). So yummy!

Glad you had a good weekend. The weather was great!!

Red, cheese fries with BACON sounds absolutely to die for!! I'm glad you were home in time to see the Best. Game. Ever. Because no matter how fun it is to relive the moment through highlights, it's just not the same, is it? Hope you're working outside today! ;)

it has been well documented that I cannot say no to bacon so I'll be adding that to my order - thanks for the tip R! And K - try the gravy, I know it sounds weird but its like a party in your mouth.

I am not a cheese fry fan either, but to each their own I guess. All of my friends out east would dip their fries in gravy. That was diner fare at 4:00 am most weekends. I need to pass on the gravy too, just don't get it, although, I am a fan of the dunk into sour cream. . . .

Sounds like a fab weekend, can't wait to see pics!
